HomeBased Realty was founded in October 1997 in Lancaster Ca.  Joe Morales, founder and President created HomeBased Realty with the future of real estate in mind. Joe is a former United States Marine and was a 13 year  Deputy Sheriff  with  the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Joe worked as a top producing sales agent for a National  franchise in Lancaster California before HomeBased Realty was founded. 
 
The changing times
Technology is changing everything. The real estate industry is being dramatically and forever changed by three powerful revolutions. They are the internet revolution, the information revolution and the home office revolution. HomeBased Realty is a leader in the home office concept and is ahead of the curve and positioned at the front of these three powerful revolutions !  The next generation real estate professional and the next generation buyer and seller will be extremely  proficient with technology and the internet and will most likely have a home office.

Many real estate professionals are working from home offices and relying less and less on their "traditional " broker's facilities and equipment. We believe the larger brick and mortar presence of the "traditional" real estate office will some day become obsolete . Walk into most real estate offices today and you will find them 70-80% empty most of the time .

With technology changing how and where we work, HomeBased Realty was created and designed with a non-traditional infrastructure. HomeBased Realty has a much smaller brick and mortar presence known as the "WorkCenter" and focuses on a much larger virtual presence by way of the internet and the home offices. Technology has allowed us to work from just about anywhere, including our homes.
 
Our associates are more mobile, utilizing laptop computers, cell phones, portable printers, scanners, digital cameras, the internet, e-mail, personal data assistants (Palm Pilots) and more! Because technology and equipment is becoming more advanced and affordable every day , HomeBased Realty associates are able to capitalize on these tools to better service their clients in the most professional and efficient manner available. Our associates have the ability to be mobile and meet clients at the client's home if convenient or meet clients at our "WorkCenters".

The Concept
HomeBased Realty allows its agents to primarily work from their fully equipped home offices. HomeBased Realty gives you the option to provide a "WorkCenter" under our "WorkCenter Brokerage" program (WCB).  If you plan on growing your company to more than 5 associates, you will need to open the "WorkCenter". The "WorkCenter" is designed to accommodate the home office agent with the facilities and equipment to provide a neutral setting for agents to meet clients, negotiate sales and a place to utilize when in the field. The "WorkCenter" provides unassigned workstations, telephones, conference rooms, computer, fax and copy machines for the home office agents to use when in the field. If you choose to keep your company size under 5 associates, you can all work from your home offices under our "Home Office Brokerage" program (HOB).

The "WorkCenter" can  be supported by private office space  occupied by HomeBased Realty agents who would rather work from a private office than from their home office. The "WorkCenter" is generally much smaller in size in relation to a "traditional" real estate office with the same number of associates. This is because the majority of our sales associates work primarily from home office. Imagine having an 800 to 1000+sf  "WorkCenter" and 50 to 100+ agents working from their home office ! You control the size of your workcenter depending on your business growth !

Because of our unique infrastructure, the overhead is greatly reduced. The savings are  passed on to the agents normally in higher commissions kept ! This allows you the broker to become more competitive and offers a strong incentive when recruiting agents.

Our company yard signs are distinctive and prominently display our company name and logo, the listing agent name and contact number. This increases the chance that your agents will receive sign calls from their listings and helps promote company and agent name recognition.
